1. What warranties does UPS Battery Center, Ltd. provide with my battery?
Every battery we sell comes with a free warranty. Our Free Warranty starts on the day you purchase your battery and extends for 1 year.
2. What does our Free Warranty cover?
We guarantee that our batteries are free of defects in material and workmanship.
3. Can I extend my warranty?
Yes. You can purchase an extended warranty that extends coverage for an additional 1 or 2 years after the Free Warranty expires. The Extended Warranty covers defects in material and workmanship.
4. What is not covered under our Free and Extended Warranties?
- End of life: The warranties do not cover a battery reaching its normal end of life.
- Used batteries: The warranties do not cover used batteries.
- Abuse and natural forces: Damage from abuse, weather, overcharging, improper use, etc. is not covered.
- Electrical qualities: Deterioration in electrical performance due to usage conditions is not covered.
- Battery capacity: Misuse or mismatching of battery capacity voids the warranty.
- Improper cleaning: Use of inappropriate cleaning agents voids the warranty.
5. If my battery is not working, what should I do?
Test the battery first. If it’s not functioning as expected, contact us. If we can’t fix it, we’ll issue an RMA and send a replacement with a prepaid return label.
We cannot process returns without issuing a return authorization number.
6. If I receive a replacement battery, do I get additional warranty coverage?
No. The replacement only carries the remainder of the original warranty period.
7. Who decides whether there is a defect?
We determine this at our sole discretion. Accepting a returned item does not mean we acknowledge a defect.
8. What are the other limitations on the warranties?
This limited warranty replaces all other warranties where permitted by law. We are not liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages. Warranty is governed by Ontario law.
9. What are your additional limitations for E-bike batteries?
E-bike batteries are subject to a 90-day limited warranty from the date of purchase. Loss of capacity, top speed, or range is not covered.
The E-bike battery warranty also does not cover:
- Damage from accidents or negligent use
- Normal wear and tear
- Improper charger use
- Tampering or broken seals
- Damage from external causes
- Improper storage or infrequent charging
- Exposure to liquids, chemicals, sand, or dirt
- Deep discharge beyond 80% of capacity
